Directions to CiderFest NC: Take 26 N from Asheville and exit at 15. Offsite parking area will be immediately on your right, signs will show you the way. Asheville Historic Trolley will be taking you to the festival just .04 miles away and will run during the whole event. Asheville, NC - The WNC Green Building Council is hosting the 1st Annual CiderFest NC! Five of Western North Carolina Cidermakers and one South Carolina Cidermaker will participate in the festival held at the Echoview Fiber Mill- 76 Jupiter Road, Weaverville on Sunday November 10th, 2013 from 1P.M. - 5 P.M. CiderFest NC will be the first of its kind in Western North Carolina and will feature Black Mountain Ciderworks, McRitchie Winery & Ciderworks, Noble Hard Cider, Urban Orchard Cider Co., and Windy Hill Orchard as they serve up one of the coolest ways to use the many apples grown in our region.
The WNC Green Building Council (WNCGBC) will be pairing the refreshing and naturally gluten-free hard ciders with local cheeses from Ashe County Cheese, Looking Glass Creamery, Spinning Spider Creamery and Three Graces Dairy paired with Roots & Branches artisan crakers. Underground Baking Co. will be showcasing their European style, hearth-baked breads, using 100% organic flour, milled in NC. Earth Fare will be providing non-alcoholic organic cider, mulled cider, apples and maple cream cookies.
WNCGBC’s CiderFest NC includes fall festivities for the whole family: a tour of Echoview Fiber Mill - the first LEED Gold certified manufacturing mill; “Hard Cider 101: The Sustainable Sauce” discussion by Urban Orchard Cider Co.; live old-time music by the Carolina Bog Turtles and Celtic music by the Bare Knuckle Quartet; cider & cheese tasting; cornhole tournaments; and pumpkin painting for the kids or young at heart! Event will happen RAIN or SHINE.
All proceeds will support the important work the WNC Green Building Council has been doing for 12 years in our community: promoting environmentally sustainable and health conscious building practices through community education and innovative programs.
Tickets are limited and we expect to sell out so purchase your tickets today! WNCGBC Members $10 and Non-members $15. Kids are FREE. Limited number of tickets sold the day of event - cost: Members $15 and Non-member $20.
